Bridging the Digital Divide for High School Students
Through our non-profit division, SaNDAI Cares, we launched the DataGen Scholars Program, a 12-month Data Analytics and Generative AI Training initiative designed specifically for high school students at Alexandria City High School. Our goal was to bridge the digital divide and prepare students for a future where data analytics and AI play pivotal roles in every aspect of life, equipping them with in-demand skills that enhance their career prospects.
The problems we needed to solve
High school students often lack access to technology education, leaving them unprepared for careers increasingly shaped by data analytics and AI. The challenge was to develop a program that not only teaches these vital skills but also provides practical experience, fostering an inclusive and innovative community of young tech- literate individuals ready to excel in the workforce.
The solutions we proposed
We designed a 12-month program with webinars, self-guided courses, and micro-jobs to provide education and hands-on experience. Students learned to use tools like Tableau, Power BI, and generative AI, enabling them to apply these skills in real-world scenarios and boost their career.
What have we achieved
The DataGen Scholars Program has transformed how students perceive and engage with technology, equipping them with critical skills in data analytics and AI. By providing access to technology education and practical experience, the program is closing the tech skills gap and building a more inclusive, tech-savvy community of future leaders ready to thrive in an evolving digital landscape.
What this means going forward
The DataGen Scholars Program is more than just a training initiative; it’s a commitment to shaping the future of education and workforce readiness. By empowering students with the skills needed in data analytics and generative AI, SaNDAI Cares is not only bridging the digital divide but also fostering the next generation of innovators. This program exemplifies our dedication to creating opportunities and building a brighter, more technologically inclusive future.
